Hopkins Semester DC

The Hopkins Semester DC is a semester-long program that students complete entirely in Washington, D.C.!

Open to Sophomores through graduating seniors, students spend the semester living, studying, and working in the nation’s capital. They’ll engage in an immersive academic and cocurricular field of study in the brand new, state-of-the-art Bloomberg Center on Pennsylvania Avenue mere steps from the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, National Gallery of Art, U.S. Supreme Court, and the Smithsonian Museums. Students reside with other JHU HSDC participants at The Washington Center, living in a residential community that exclusively houses students participating in internships and other educational immersion experiences. The Washington Center is located in DC’s vibrant NoMa neighborhood with lots of fun things to do and great restaurants just outside the residence.

Course and programming themes change each semester. The Spring 2026 semester theme is Technology and Society. Upcoming themes are available via the link below.
